Science cartoon based on Europa's Ocean May Have an Earth like Chemical Balance
Europa's Ocean May Have an Earth like Chemical Balance
Jupiter's moon Europa always remain mysterious heavenly body for astronomy enthusiastic. A new NASA study modeling conditions in the ocean of Europa suggests that the necessary balance of chemical energy for life could exist there, even if the Europa lacks volcanic hydrothermal activity.
The study conducted by scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California, compared Europa's potential for producing H2 and O2 with that of Earth, through processes that do not directly involve volcanism. Balance of hydrogen and oxygen is key indicator for creation of life. Study suggest the presence of favourable factors for life on Europa.

Science Cartoon on Novel Liquid wire inspired by spiders' web
Novel Liquid Wire… An inspiration from spiders’ web
Scientists from the University of Oxford, UK and the
Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France worked on spider silk and
published paper in Proceeding of National Academy of Science on 16th
May 2016.
They studied the properties of spiders’ webs in context to subtle
balance between fiber elasticity as well as droplet surface tension and used it
to create composite fibers in the laboratory which, just like the spider's
capture silk, extend like a solid and compress like a liquid. These novel
insights may lead to new bio-inspired technology.
