Scientoon on IPPC report on Ocean and Ice
Scientoon on IPPC report on Ocean and Ice
The special report prepared by more than 100 scientists from 40 different countries presented to UN on oceans & ice by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warns that without steep cuts to greenhouse-gas emissions, fisheries will falter, increase in average strength of hurricanes & rising sea water level.
The response by the world leaders are not so affirmative regarding concreted steps.

Science cartoon based on Europa's Ocean May Have an Earth like Chemical Balance
Europa's Ocean May Have an Earth like Chemical Balance
Jupiter's moon Europa always remain mysterious heavenly body for astronomy enthusiastic. A new NASA study modeling conditions in the ocean of Europa suggests that the necessary balance of chemical energy for life could exist there, even if the Europa lacks volcanic hydrothermal activity.
The study conducted by scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California, compared Europa's potential for producing H2 and O2 with that of Earth, through processes that do not directly involve volcanism. Balance of hydrogen and oxygen is key indicator for creation of life. Study suggest the presence of favourable factors for life on Europa.
